GRP Tube (2m)
All of our GRP tubes are manufactured using a high volume fraction of fibreglass in a polyester, vinylester or epoxy matrix to BS EN 13706 specifications.
Unidirectional fibreglass tubes are made using unidirectional fibreglass to give the maximum longitudinal strength but they are more vulnerable to crushing. These are available in sizes from 6mm up to 31.8mm in diameter and are manufactured using a polyester matrix.
Cross directional GRP tubes use a combination of multi-layered cross-ply fabrics, giving greater hoop strength that is resistant to bending and torsional forces. These are available in sizes from 38.1mm up to 152mm in diameter and are manufactured using a polyester matrix.
Pullbraided fibreglass tubes are made with a combination of unidirectional fibreglass and an internal 45° double helix fibreglass braiding which allows a thinner walled tube to be made with a smooth surface finish that will give excellent hoop strength resistant to bending and torsional forces. These are available in sizes from 4mm up to 14mm in diameter and are manufactured using a vinylester matrix.
Pullwound GRP tubes are made with multiple-layered, unidirectional glass fibre with an internally pull braided fibreglass at 80° across the axis, and externally wound with a 37° double helix glass fibre braid giving ultimate resistance to bending and torsional forces. These are available in sizes from 16mm up to 80mm in diameter and are manufactured using an epoxy matrix.
